Conference Venue
EC2ND 2011 takes place in ”Fakultetsvåningen Villan”. The "Villan" is situated at one side of the campus of Chalmers University. The address is Gibraltargatan 1A.
You can use the following maps to navigate through the campus to the workshop location.
Find your way to Chalmers
Campus Johanneberg is the largest and oldest of the Chalmers campuses, located in the district of Johanneberg. Here is the student union building, a large part of training and much of the research. Getting to Chalmers is easy and there are several options you have.
On foot
If you are staying at either Quality Hotel Panorama or SGS Veckobostäder the easiest way to reach the conference site is to walk. There is also a bus stop close to the site, serviced by bus 19.
By public transport
The campus is situated in central Gothenburg and is well-connected with public transport, such as buses, trams and ferries. You should always have valid transportation card before entering buses or trams. You can buy them in many small kiosks. You can either buy a "five-trip" card or cards with unlimited number of travel for a fixed time period. Note that tickets cannot be bought from the driver, even though some trams have coin operated ticket vending machines.
By train
At Drottningtorget, outside the railway station in the city center, you can choose tram 7, direction Tynnered to Kapellplatsen and walk from there. There is a point of sale for public transportation tickets at Centralstationen.
By air
From Landvetter Airport take the airport shuttle bus to Korsvägen in the city center. From Korsvägen tram 6, direction Länsmansgården or tram 8, direction Frölunda Torg, to Chalmers. Then change trams (or walk) to Kapellplatsen and then to the conference site. Note that only credit cards are accepted for buying tickets on the shuttle bus. You can also ask the shuttle bus driver for a single public transport ticket. If you wish to buy additional public transport tickets, there is a point of sale for other types of tickets at Korsvägen, where the shuttle bus stops.
Hotels near EC2ND 2011
A set of rooms have been reserved at the Quality Hotel Panorama, situated within walking distance to Chalmers. The price for a single room is 1099 SEK, approximately 115 Euro. Reservation number 2028R195960 has to be stated upon a reservation. This reservation is only valid until August 12, 2011.
For students, we also recommend SGS Veckobostäder for cheaper accomodation. They offer rooms starting from 490 SEK.

Internet Access at the Conference
Eduroam users
The recommended way to stay connected during the conference is to use your Eduroam account. Chalmers is a member of Eduroam, so you will be able to go online as soon as you reach the EC2ND 2011 venue. Please note that if your organization is an Eduroam member eduroam member but you haven't previously used it, you should contact your local administrator before leaving.
Other users
For those who cannot use Eduroam to go online, guest credentials will be
handled. For this reason, a short application form has to be filled at the registration desk. The guest credentials will then be handled later during lunchtime of the first day. So, for your own convenience, we strongly encourage you to consider using Eduroam if it is available in your organization.
